Shannon Bessin
Founder & Head of Customer Wow!
If there is an organization or design gene, I was born with it. I’m not intimidated by your awkwardly spaced family room, salmon pink tiles, tower of electronics now obsolete or even the assortment of old suitcases that haven’t been touched in years (or what is now living in them!). Organizing and design comes naturally to me and it's unquestionably my passion.

Since starting my company in 2016, I have been humbled by the reception I’ve received from fabulous clients who trust and welcome me and my team into their homes and businesses. I am privileged and flattered for the opportunities to collaborate with fellow industry professionals, trade partners and folks in the build industry on specialty
projects. In addition to being a member of a select group of nationwide professional organizers who The Container Store supports and refers business to, I am lucky to have resources at the ready through a variety of national memberships and certifications.

I put in crazy long hours and often come home with dirt under my fingernails. This job isn’t always for the faint of heart, but it's worth every minute. I am grateful for the clever, hard-working, fun team I get to work side by side with on our client’s projects. If I’m not with my work family, then I’m spending time with my husband, son and extended family: a simple night at home by the fire, sitting lakeside, traveling, boating or working in my yard.

Nested is comprised of accredited, skilled professionals with years of residential and commercial experience in closet and storage solution design, professional organizing, interior design and spatial planning, carpentry, move management, staging and estate sales.

Former Big 4 accountant turned stay-at-home mom for two full-of-energy kids. I volunteer at my kids’ schools when I can. I especially enjoy time in the school library because putting books back in the correct order brings me great joy. Who doesn’t love the very efficient Dewey decimal system?! I also love traveling with my husband and our kids, summer vacations on Nantucket, and trying new recipes with my family.

Everything has its place. Buckets, baskets, bins: if it’s organized, I can sleep at night! I happily traded in my teaching career to be home with our two beautiful daughters. As our girls grow up, I am now lucky enough to have the time to work alongside this talented team of inspiring women! When I’m off the clock, you can find me strolling the beach, walking our adorable dog around the neighborhood, or on an adventure with my husband and our daughters.

My business administration background is a natural fit for Nested Organization & Design’s business needs. I bring organizational expertise to keep us on course, although I do love being in the action to bring our client projects to fruition! I prefer to spend my free time sitting on the beach with my family and friends, walking the hills of Vermont with our dog, Willow, and watching my three boys crush their sports.

I have over 10 years of experience in the industry, having run my own staging company. I truly enjoy creating calm out of chaos and love rolling up my sleeves to get the job done. I believe in the “touch-it-once” theory - whether moving, reorganizing, or decluttering, efficiency is key to maintaining a functional and peaceful space. Outside of work, I’m also a certified yoga instructor, which has deepened my appreciation for balance and mindfulness in all aspects of life! I live in Rye with my husband, Dave, and our husky, Indie, where we enjoy playing golf and long walks on the beach. When winter rolls around, you’ll find us soaking up the sunshine at our home in Florida.

Officially retired and the mom of Nested’s owner, I can’t imagine not doing what I can to support my daughter and her remarkable staff. Whether I am on-site wrapping artwork, styling a room, folding clothes, picking out fabric swatches, or organizing a kitchen, I do what I can to contribute to our client’s projects. Outside of Nested, I spend time with friends and family, I love to garden, shop till I drop, enjoy sitting lakeside, and travel whenever I can.

I joined Nested in January 2023, bringing high energy and my passion for transforming spaces. I so enjoy collaborating with our amazing all-women team to make the great impact that we do in people’s homes and businesses. While I’ve been in the organizing world for quite some time, I’ve been designing custom spaces for years. My heart lies with designing custom closets/storage solutions and seamlessly moving clients. I thoroughly enjoy long walks (and anything outdoors!) with my husband and German Shepherd, Rocket.

After nearly twenty years of owning a home décor and gift shop, I shifted my focus toward family life, embracing the many roles of a stay-at-home mom. Now, with two high schoolers, I have more time to pursue my other passions: home improvements, organizing, and decorating, all of which bring peace and balance to my surroundings. Decluttering has never been a challenge for me. If something doesn’t fit, serve a purpose, or look just right, it’s time to let it go! My background in creative design and years of managing busy schedules and multitasking has given me a strong foundation in function and aesthetics. I’m thrilled to bring my experience and passion to Nested, where I can do what I love in a perfectly suited space.

No job is too giant, weight too heavy, dirt too dirty. When I’m not knee-deep in a Nested dumpster, I’m arm-deep in soil for my other profession as a landscape designer. Seeing the transformation of a challenging space in both professions is something worth talking about! I have two awesome teenagers who keep me on my toes. Spending time with my boys, skiing, dancing, boating, and relaxing on a beach with a good book all keep me busy outside of work!

Sometimes, less is more! I love a clean, clutter-free counter—though with a husband and three kids, that’s more of a daily aspiration than a reality. After spending ten years as a stay-at-home mom, I joined Nested in 2024, ready to bring my love of organization to others (and maybe finally win the battle against rogue water bottles and snack wrappers). Before diving into the world of home organization, I worked in local TV news and education—both great training grounds for thinking on my feet and managing chaos. When I’m not working or chauffeuring my kids to all their sports and activities, I love to travel (Grand Cayman is our happy place!), cheer on my favorite teams (Go Green Bay, Purdue, and Syracuse!), and cook for my family—especially when the kids actually eat it. I’m so excited to be part of Nested and to help others create spaces that feel just as good as they look!
